M-TEC WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
A key component of the mission of the M-TEC is to provide educational
opportunities to regional business and industry partners specifically
designed to upgrade and/or enhance the job skills necessary to compete
in local, state, national, and global economies. Many of the training
needs of industry are met through customized training. In an effort to
improve workforce skills, training programs can be developed to meet
your specific needs at a location convenient to you. Whether you want
onsite training or training at our facility, your needs will be met.
Examples of training workshops:
- Computer Classes: Microsoft Office XP, Microsoft Excel,
Microsoft Access, and Microsoft PowerPoint, and QuickBooks
accounting software.
- Management and Leadership Classes: Leadership Training Series,
Customer Relations, and Human Resources.
- Job Skills Training: EPA Refrigerant Certification, Electrical
Code Update, Builder’s Estimating, 40 Hour HAZWOPER, 8 Hour HAZWOPER
Refresher, Confined Space Entry, AWS Welder Performance
Qualifications, and Facility Maintenance.
- MIOSHA Safety Training: An ongoing series of MIOSHA training
sessions required by employers from a variety of business and
industries will be provided throughout the year to meet ongoing and
new State requirements. Some examples are Health Issues Relating to
Construction and Healthcare and Industrial Hygiene for the Safety
Profession.

NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND PARAPROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
The NCLB Act identifies three ways to become certified as a
Paraprofessional:
- Pass a designated test
- Earn an Associates Degree
- Earn 60 credit hours
